Brant TEACH Home Educators

"Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it."  Proverbs 22:6

TEACH Home Educators of Brant is a non-profit, interdenominational, Christian home school support group founded in September 1990, serving the Brantford, Ontario area.

1.  To support one another as teaching parents through prayer, encouragement and resources.

2.  To support and provide friendship for our children.

3.  To support other parents interested in home schooling with information, resources and encouragement.

We fulfill these purposes by holding monthly meetings for parents, providing sports activities, field trips and other special events for students.

TEACH Home Educators of Brant was established in September 1990 with a handful of families. Annual membership has grown to over 160 families from Brantford, Brant County and surrounding areas.

The TEACH membership fee for the school year is $50.00. Memberships are valid from September through August. There is a membership form and a TEACH Family Code of Conduct that the family is asked to complete.  Single parents are exempt from fees.

TEACH membership provides access to a members only website, borrowing privileges from our extensive Resource Library, participation in all TEACH activities, and liability insurance for the organization that enables us to use public facilities.

We hold Monthly Meetings for parents during the school year.  These meetings will often host a guest speaker sharing a topic of interest to home school families.  Other meetings are led by experienced home school parents to share ideas and resources for those new to home schooling.

In past years, TEACH student activities have included:

  • Elementary and High School Elective Co-op classes, Gymnastics, Ice Skating, Science Fair, Speech Meet, Spring Musical Production, Swimming Lessons
  • Elementary & High School sports - Soccer, Flag Football, Cross Country, Track & Field, Volleyball, Floor hockey, Badminton, Basketball, Soft ball.  We belong to CAASO & SOCSSAA and participate in tournaments with area Christian schools.
Sufficient student interest, as well as parent volunteers to coordinate each of these activities / events, is required for each of these events to occur.

Additional field trips are also made available to TEACH families as parents organize them throughout the school year. Costs for each of these TEACH activities vary according to the event.
